About the Mortgage Title Searcher RoleÂ
Are you a modern-day detective with a passion for property law and an eagle eye for historical details? We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Mortgage Title Searcher to join our closing department team. In this vital role, you will be the expert responsible for uncovering the complete story of a property, ensuring clear titles and peace of mind for our customers.
Reporting to the Closing Department Officer, you will dive deep into public and private records, transforming scattered data points into a clear, legal description of ownership and history. Your precision guarantees smooth real estate transactions and safeguards our bank and borrowers from potential title issues.
Key Responsibilities
- The Records Detective: Expertly navigate physical and digital archives of town, city, and county offices, as well as private real estate companies, to compile exhaustive transaction and ownership histories.
- Data Compiler: Acquire vital maps, drawings, deeds of ownership, tax records, and boundary descriptions necessary for a complete legal profile of the property.
- Risk Mitigator: Research and investigate to identify any restrictions, liens, or issues limiting the use of the property, flagging concerns before they become problems.
- Collaborative Expert: Work closely with realtors, mortgage lenders, insurers, and public officials to clarify findings and confirm data accuracy.
- Responsible for Facilitating the recording of Mortgages for Closed Loans.Â
- Report Master: Use your findings to prepare accurate, well-written reports essential for title commitments, title insurance, and real estate transfers.

Qualifications
Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Â
- At least one year of experience with real estate procedures and property record training.
- You must possess excellent organizational skills, strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, and an impeccable attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with various stakeholders and preparing clear reports.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Fluent in English; bilingual a plus
- Access to reliable transportationÂ
Preferred
- Prior experience in mortgage lending operations.
Schedule
Full-time position; Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, including some Saturdays. Evening/weekend work may occasionally be required.
Physical Demands:
Primarily sedentary role involving standard office activities such as computer work, phone communication, and document handling.
