The El Paso-Teller County 9-1-1 Authority is seeking a friendly, professional, and organized individual to join our team as a Front Desk Receptionist. Position Summary: 

 

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who takes initiative and drives results. The candidate will be responsible for serving as the first point of contact for the Authority, providing professional, courteous, and efficient customer service to the public, partner agencies, vendors, and staff.  This position is responsible for coordinating front desk and lobby operations as well as basic administrative support. The Front Desk Receptionist plays a critical role in maintaining a positive public image of the Authority. 
 

What You Will Do: 

 

  • Answer telephones, greet visitors, take, and deliver messages, and provide general information to members of the Authority and the public.  
  • Provide clerical support to Authority Staff; assist as needed in the daily clerical operations of all Authority Departments. 
  • Maintain an orderly and inviting front lobby; open, close, and secure the lobby each day.  
  • Handle the visitor management system; check in, check out, Authority security badges.    
  • Coordinate the receipt and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and packages. 
  • Maintain room calendars to prevent overbooking and scheduling conflicts. 
  • Operate all standard office machines to include copiers, scanners, phones, voicemail systems, and personal computers. 
  • Perform all other related duties as required by management.

 Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications: 

 

  • Exceptional customer service standards and techniques for effectively interacting with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in person and over the phone. 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project) and Adobe.​  
  • Ability to deal effectively with various individuals under stressful situations and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. 

 

Education:  

A high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) is required.

 

Experience:  

At least one (1) year of responsible administrative or customer service experience.


Requirements: 

Must pass a driving record (M.V.R), drug screen, reference, and criminal history background check before starting employment.
