We're looking for an experienced banking professional to join our team as an Administration Support Specialist I. If you have experience opening and servicing deposit accounts and enjoy helping members and employees resolve complex account needs, this could be the perfect next step in your career. In this role, you'll build specialized expertise, support teams across the organization, and make a meaningful impact on our members' financial journeys.

In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for specialized accounts and complex member situations. You'll work closely with branch employees and members over the phone, providing guidance and support for IRAs, HSAs, trust accounts, deceased member accounts, business accounts, and other specialty account types. If you enjoy working behind the scenes to ensure members receive exceptional service during important life events, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Why Join AACU?

Recognized as a Gazette Best Workplace since 2017, AACU is committed to improving the lives of our members, employees, and communities by doing what's right, not what's easy.

With more than 43,000 members and over $819 million in assets, we help members navigate financial milestones big and small. We also invest in our communities through volunteerism, charitable giving, and local partnerships, creating a workplace where purpose and service come together.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for IRAs, HSAs, trust accounts, deceased accounts, and other specialty account types.
  • Support members and branch employees with complex account service requests and account maintenance.
  • Assist with account ownership changes, beneficiaries, account conversions, fraud-related account changes, address updates, and other account servicing needs.
  • Guide employees through specialized account processes and compliance requirements.
  • Process and administer deceased member accounts, including final IRA and HSA distributions.
  • Review and maintain membership, certificate, IRA, and HSA reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage member correspondence, returned mail processes, and membership documentation.
  • Maintain and update member forms, letters, and system-generated communications.
  • Conduct account research and provide timely resolutions for members and staff.

Growth Opportunities

This position offers a unique opportunity to build specialized expertise in deposit operations and fiduciary accounts. AACU is committed to promoting from within, and this role provides a pathway to advanced positions with increased responsibility, specialized account expertise, leadership opportunities, and future career paths that may include hybrid work arrangements.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in banking, credit unions, or financial services.
  • A self-motivated professional with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of deposit accounts and member account servicing.
  • Understanding of IRAs and HSAs, or a desire to develop expertise in these areas.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding member and employee support.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay: $19.15 - $24.75 per hour
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid vacation, sick time, and federal holidays
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Tuition reimbursement after 90 days
  • Professional development and certification opportunities
  • A collaborative culture dedicated to member service and employee success
