Description:  Associate Technical Staff are mid-level professionals with a solid understanding of technical concepts and skills. They have completed relevant education or training programs and have gained initial practical experience. They work under moderate supervision, supporting projects and troubleshooting as needed. They may lead small areas of technical projects, and actively seek hands-on experience and training to further refine and enhance their skills.

We are pleased to announce the immediate need for a Hardware Engineer, who will join our Ground Based Radar (GBR) Maintenance and Sustainment Services (GMASS) team in Colorado Springs, CO and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team known for performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic Missile Warning (MW), Missile Defense (MD), and Space Domain Awareness (SDA).

Responsibilities: 

You will be conducting research, design, development, and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and electrical components. You will design new or modify existing products, develop technical specifications for production, analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions, and test hardware conformance to specifications. Work may encompass one or several areas of engineering including electronic design, mechanical design, reliability engineering or other related fields. You will be responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines, developing or executing project plans, budgets, and schedules, and developing documentation of work and results.

You will be providing Engineering and Technical Assistance Support, Maintenance Planning & Management, Design Interface, Sustaining Engineering, and Incremental Sustainment Services to the United States Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Delta.

Basic Qualifications:

  • You must have a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field. Technology or Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
  • You must have full-time professional experience in areas such as: Radar Maintenance, System Administration, Radar Operator, Computer Maintenance and Operations.
  • You must possess or can obtain an active Secret clearance.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with design, integration, and transitioning products from development to production, and obsolescence management.
  • Experience performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) analysis and recommendations.
  • Experience compiling and analyzing performance reports and process control statistics; investigating and analyzing relevant variables potentially affecting products and processes.
  • Experience recommending design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
  • Experience with system level hardware and facilities equipment installation, integration, and problem solving.
  • Experience developing safety analysis for systems/subsystems, identify safety hazards and recommending safety requirements to system design and operations to mitigate safety risks.
  • Experience analyzing hardware configuration and processing solutions for projects and testing hardware conformance to specifications.
  • Experience with mitigating hardware obsolescence issues.
  • Experience utilizing engineering drawings and technical manuals for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Experience supporting integration, installation, test and documentation of new and/or modified capabilities into systems.
  • Experience providing Operations and Sustainment (O&S) hardware support of the Upgraded Early Warning Radars (UEWR) located at Beale, Cape Cod, Thule, Clear, and Fylingdales.
  • Experience providing obsolescence Engineering research and analysis on commercial-off-the-shelf and non-commercial hardware assets within the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS)/PAVE PAWS (PP) subsystems.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Industry and Government Standards such as: DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, DO-254, DO-178, MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, and Universal Armament Interface (UAI).
  • Ability to support system integration, test, development, and execution of various types of complex communications systems.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Provide lab and site integration, test, and maintenance support.
  • Participate in troubleshooting systems to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining sub-systems.
  • Previous SENSOR or SMORS program support.
