Job DetailsJob Location: Colorado Springs Pikes Peak Location - Colorado Springs, CO 80909Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $19.00 - $21.85 HourlyPOSITION SUMMARY: Dispatchers are responsible for scheduling and dispatching Rocky Mountain Health Care Services (RMHCS) drivers on a daily/weekly basis. Coordination of client transport and delivery of other equipment, goods and personnel for RMHCS as deemed necessary.   MISSION: Improving lives, Optimizing wellness, Promoting independence   COMPETENCIES:   Technical Expertise Problem Solving Teamwork Effective Communication Results Oriented Personal Credibility Quality Focus People Focus Flexibility     RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Schedule and dispatch Drivers and service vehicles to appropriate locations according to participant need and company specifications using radios, computer or telephones ensuring fair and equitable assignments Keeps scheduling software up to date with current data and participant information ensuring software meets the needs of the department Data report extrapolation to provide to management, customers or programs as needed Relay messages and information to or from Drivers and RMHCS points of contact ensuring clear and concise communication Confer with Supervisor and Transportation personnel in order to address questions, problems and requests for service or equipment ensuring supervisor is informed of any supervision, or staffing issues Works with Supervisor to review manifest and determine types or amounts of vehicles and personnel required. Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to better coordinate service and schedules Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions and other hazards Considers the impact of the decisions on other departments and the company as a whole, while demonstrating effective partnership management skills Must maintain detailed notes and documentation Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team and attends daily IDT meetings Dispatchers are required to participate in 24 hour on call weekly rotation, which requires staff to answer the phone 24/7 and be available to provide emergent afterhours transportation as needed Other duties as requested/assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two years of transportation or logistics experience as a Driver or Driver/Coordinator or administrative experience, preferably in a Transportation Department Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers One year of experience working with the frail, elderly population is preferred Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, co-workers, vendors, medical staff, and the public Must be able to multitask and have effective record keeping skills Must be knowledgeable in computer applications and software Knowledge of principles, practices, and of safety requirements pertaining to the Transportation industry Ability to work independently with minimal supervision   We strive to provide our employees with a comprehensive and affordable benefits package including Medical and Prescription Drug, Dental, Vision Care, Wellness Program, Telemedicine Program, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Account, Company Paid Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Company Paid Long-Term Disability, Voluntary Life Insurance, Voluntary Short-Term Disability, Accidental Injury Insurance, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, 403(b) Savings Plan, Legal Shield and IDShield, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Paid Time-Off plan.  Such benefits are based on applicable state law and factors such as pay classification (full-time, part-time, or PRN/casual), job grade and length of service.
