We are seeking a Junior Linux System Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Troubleshoot and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center

  • Administer VMware Tanzu and container Repositories/Registries

  • Support network engineers, system engineers, cybersecurity engineers, and additional system administrators, to provide high quality, innovative engineering services to the Government customer

  • Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and disaster recovery, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations

  • Manage and maintain task assignments by updating task tracking software with work notes, blockers, status, etc.

  • Comply with organizational systems administration standard operating procedures

  • Manage accounts and access to Linux systems and equipment

  • Be responsible for ensuring system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.

  • Conduct functional, security, and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability of Linux based infrastructure

  • Be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult software problems, and provide resolution(s)

  • Be able to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results

  • Be ambitious, inquisitive, and goal-oriented

  • Have a strong understanding of system administration concepts

What You Bring

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 2 years of directly related experience in relevant business systems, operating systems, and servers and/or experience in light programming, project management of small initiatives, and troubleshooting

  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
