Role Overview The role of the Quality Control (QC) Auditor plays a pivotal part in the auditing of loan files by focusing on broad issues that govern quality at Mortgage Solutions. This role requires a constant high level of professionalism and confidentiality while providing customer service to our internal and external customers. By focusing on loan quality, compliance and various other duties related to residential mortgage loan files this position ensures the accuracy of information and verifies that loans conform to all Company, investor, and regulatory standards. This role will also assist other auditors with pre-funding audits and other department functions. Essential Functions: Perform audits on residential mortgage loan files. Identify issues that may result in the inability to sell a loan on the secondary market. Communicate effectively with operations staff to address any unresolved issues and elevate concerns to the appropriate stakeholders regarding potentially critical items. Ensure Adverse Action Notices for declined loan files are processed accordingly. Manage time efficiently and prioritize workloads to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple tasks such as document imaging to a paperless system. Stay current on all agencies, state, and federal guidelines, and participate in on-going training as the mortgage industry evolves. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s mission, vision and values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and vendors. Regular, reliable and predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsKnowledge Skills & Abilities Proficiency with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) knowledge of Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS) is a plus. Ability to adapt quickly to other information systems. Ability to work as part of a team and/or independently. Extremely detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask in a fast pace and stressful environment. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Professional, courteous, friendly demeanor and excellent phone etiquette. Experience & Education High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1-2 years mortgage experience preferred, preferably with auditing background or testing familiarity. Physical Requirements This is a primarily sedentary position, involving prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional movement about inside the office to walk to offices and office machinery. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating standard office equipment (e.g., computer, keyboard, mouse, phone).
