Job DetailsJob Location: Colorado Springs Pikes Peak Location - Colorado Springs, CO 80909Education Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $19.00 - $21.85 Hourly POSITION SUMMARY: The Recreation and Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of  wellness activities for participants in the Day Center. Working with the Recreation Therapy and Rehabilitation departments, this position is an integral part in optimizing the wellness of our participants. Serves on the interdisciplinary team as requested.   MISSION: Improving lives, Optimizing wellness, Promoting independence   COMPETENCIES:   Technical Expertise Problem Solving Teamwork Effective Communication Results Oriented Personal Credibility Quality Focus People Focus Flexibility   RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Acts as the direct liaison to coordinate participant referrals into the wellness program from the rehabilitation department Assists with the development and implementation and coordination of the wellness activities that meet the interests, needs and capabilities of participants in tandem with the recreation therapists and under the supervision of the Recreation Therapy and Wellness Manager. Leads the Wellness Team in assisting the Recreation Therapy and Rehabilitation departments as requested by the Recreation Therapy and Wellness Manager. Leads groups with an enthusiastic and engaging approach Brings issues and process improvement ideas to the attention of the Recreation Therapy and Wellness Manager. Completes documentation as assigned by the Recreation Therapy and Wellness Manager. Assists in the organizing of special events as assigned Assists with preparing and cleaning up after activities Assists in the ordering of supplies for department as requested and maintains equipment in good condition Handles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions, and practices universal precautions Other duties as requested/assigned Qualifications Previous experience in a lead role preferred High school diploma or equivalent.
