We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Missile Defense mission areas. In this role, you will support trade studies, system engineering, model-based system engineering, software development and product testing and deployment. Leidos is focused on finding the best people, processes, and tools that will provide solutions in data integration and fusion, data analytics, data mining, predictive analytics, data visualization, and decision support tools
Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain mission‑critical software supporting missile defense systems
Participate in Agile sprints and increment testing to validate software functionality
Document and communicate technical solutions across integrated, cross‑functional engineering teams
Stay current with modern programming techniques and emerging software technologies
Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure quality and continuous improvement
Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
Develop software solutions aligned with industry standards and best practices
Collaborate with the Systems Engineering team to plan and execute customer demonstrations
Coordinate with third‑party contractors and stakeholders to support system integration
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering. Software Development, Computer Science, or related discipline with 8+ years of experience; Additional experience, training, and/or certifications may substitute degree requirement.
US Citizen; Currently possessing an Active DoD Secret Clearance
Proficiency in C++ and Java
Experience developing microservices and working with containerized environments
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an engineering team
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to convey technical ideas in a clear, logical fashion
Ability to translate highly technical discussions into executable plans
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
Experience in missile warning or missile defense systems
Background in algorithm development and testing
Understanding of missile warning message types
Experience with Agile software development in accordance with U.S. Government requirements

Pay Range:
Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
