Penrose - St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Hospital - Interquest. Join our team as a Sterile Equipment Tech Lead. In the Sterile Equipment Tech Lead role you will:
- Perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies.
- Be responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization, maintaining records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
- Maintain certification, monitors and instructs certified and non-certified personnel.
- Communicate with departments and staff throughout the day to maintain a smooth work-flow.
- Assure daily task assignments are completed. May be requested to assume responsibility in the absence of the Supervisor and/or Manager.Â
- Be involve with training in competency of tasks performed by the staff and participates in hospital wide educational projects.
Schedule:Â 7:00am - 3:30pm
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- 2 years of sterile equipment processing, required
- Computer skills, required
- HS/GED required
- One of the following primary Central Services certifications is required upon hire or transfer: CRCST, CBSPDT
- One of the following post-primary certifications is required within one year of hire or transfer: CIS, CSIS, CER, CFER, CHL, CSPM, CASSPT
Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
