Overview

Apogee is seeking a Target Analyst Reporter (TAR) to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC). This position delivers mission-focused intelligence production by researching, analyzing, and integrating multi-source information to develop target knowledge, maintain target continuity, and produce timely, high-quality reporting in support of space and missile defense priorities.

 

The TAR builds and refines target profiles, identifies and assesses target capabilities and intent, and monitors changes in tactics, technology, and operating patterns. The analyst produces finished intelligence products—such as serialized reports, technical assessments, and briefings—using approved analytic tradecraft and reporting standards. The TAR collaborates closely with collectors, exploitation teams, and mission partners to refine requirements, validate findings, and ensure intelligence is accurate, actionable, and aligned to customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all senior analytical tasks associated with TDNA position.
  • Edit analysts' draft reports to create final intelligence reports with correct grammar and punctuation requiring little-to-no editing prior to publication.
  • Perform analytical and technical quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) on all draft reports to ensure that reports achieve NSA standards for analytical integrity, approved analytical tradecraft, sourcing, and style.
  • In coordination with the Government, maintain understanding of customers' requirements to ensure that final SIGINT reports satisfy customers' requirements.
  • Complete required NSA Courses NETA2402/NETA2108 (Analysis II), RPTG2238 (Basic Analytic Reporting), and RPTG4397 (Analytic Report Editing), plus any of the following: RPTG2235, RPTG3225, RPTG3222 or equivalent curriculum; complete recommended RPTG4398 (Report Releaser’s Course).

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret (TS) with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) adjudicationEducation: Bachelors DegreeYears of Experience: 12+ years of SIGINT/IC analytic production experience, including senior-level support to NSA or NSA-aligned SIGINT reporting missions.

Additional Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience performing senior TDNA analytic tasks and applying approved analytic tradecraft to finished intelligence production.
  • Proven experience editing analyst draft reporting into publication-ready intelligence reports, ensuring correct grammar, punctuation, structure, and clarity with minimal additional editing required.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting QA/QC of intelligence reporting to ensure compliance with NSA standards for analytic integrity, tradecraft, sourcing, and style.
  • Experience coordinating with Government leads to understand and apply customer requirements and ensure final reporting meets mission needs and production priorities.
  • Required training: Completion of NETA2402/NETA2108 (Analysis II), RPTG2238 (Basic Analytic Reporting), and RPTG4397 (Analytic Report Editing) (or documented equivalent Government curriculum/experience accepted by the program).

Preferred Qualifications:Additional Experience:

  • Completion of additional NSA reporting courses: RPTG2235, RPTG3225, and/or RPTG3222 (or equivalent).
  • Completion of RPTG4398 (Report Releaser’s Course).
  • Prior experience serving in a formal report editor/releaser capacity (e.g., leading peer review, enforcing style/tradecraft standards, mentoring authors).
  • Demonstrated experience managing/reporting to multiple customer sets and balancing competing production requirements in a high-tempo mission environment.
  • Experience developing or maintaining reporting checklists, style guides, and other working aids that improve product quality and analyst consistency across a team.
