Job Summary:Â
The Warehouse Manager oversees warehouse employees and warehouse operations at Gazette distribution center. This includes populating, downloading and outputting proper manifests and reports, spotting product for independent contractors (carriers), and distributing product (daily and weeklies) to carriers. Responsible for clearing warehouse each morning ensuring all carriers have picked up their route. Assists Area Managers with home delivery management as needed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop warehouse team to deliver unparalleled customer service.Â
- Provide training as needed to maintain an efficient and knowledgeable work force.Â
- Create an environment of open communication and facilitate effective and timely communication to employees by being accessible, responsive and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Manage daily plan to exceed expectations for productivity and accuracy.Â
- Develop and execute weekly work schedule for all warehouse staffing.
- Responsible for establishing efficient workflow from product arrival to carrier handoff and work with the Distribution Manager to ensure proper organization, layout and maintenance of the distribution center to maximize efficiency.Â
- Works with Area Managers to ensure collaboration and efficiency between warehouse staff and carriers.
- Create nightly spotting sheets and paperwork
- Output all manifests and reports for spotting all Gazette and contract products.
- Coordinate product distribution of weekly products.
- Direct warehouse employees on job duties and issue disciplinary action as necessary.
- Provide route delivery as needed and directed by management.
- Maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment and adhere to safety standards.Â
- Assist Director of Operation, Distribution Manager and Area Managers as needed.

Minimum Education & Work Experience Requirements:
Education:Â High school graduate or equivalent
Certifications/Licenses: Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and proof of insurance
Work schedule: Must be available for flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, early morning hours and holidays – 7 days a week

- Circulation and/or warehouse experience preferred.
- Quick change environment experience preferred.Â

- Strong oral and written communication and leadership skills.Â
- Flexibility - hours worked may vary greatly due to special projects, weather, personnel shortages.
- Computer skills with emphasis in Microsoft Excel and Word.Â
- Self-starter with initiative and drive.Â
- Ability to successfully lead initiatives to drive change and improvements within processes.Â
- Electronic Communications skills-frequent use of text Messaging, Phone, E-mail.Â
