Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Fort Carson, CO
Facility: Evans Army Community Hospital – Intrepid Spirit Center

MDPerm is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support the Intrepid Spirit Center at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado. The SLP will provide specialized evaluation and treatment services for active-duty service members with traumatic brain injury (TBI), cognitive-communication disorders, and related neurological conditions.

The Intrepid Spirit Centers provide interdisciplinary care focused on TBI rehabilitation, neurological recovery, and integrated behavioral health treatment for military personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.

• Conduct comprehensive speech-language and cognitive assessments.

• Develop individualized treatment plans for patients with traumatic brain injury and neurological conditions.

• Provide therapy focused on:

  • Cognitive-communication rehabilitation

  • Speech and language restoration

  • Executive functioning and memory deficits

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including neurologists, psychologists, audiologists, occupational therapists, and physicians.

• Document all encounters in MHS GENESIS in accordance with DoD standards.

• Participate in team case conferences and treatment planning meetings.

• Educate patients and families on therapy goals and progress.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

• Current unrestricted license in any U.S. state.

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in speech-language pathology.

• Experience with neurological rehabilitation, TBI, or cognitive rehabilitation preferred.

• Current BLS certification.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday – Friday
• Typical clinic hours 0700 – 1600 (40 hours per week)
