Position Title: Assistant Rental Manager 

Department: Teton Village Sports – Teton Village, WY

Classification: Winter Seasonal, Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

 

Position Overview

The Assistant Rental Manager supports the Rental Manager in leading daily rental operations. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining operational excellence, developing employees, and ensuring efficient execution of departmental goals. As the primary on-the-floor leader, the Assistant Manager provides direction to Leads and Technicians while maintaining accountability, communication, and high operational standards.

 

 

Job Duties

  • Lead by example and uphold all expectations established for the Lead position.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to Leads and Technicians.
  • Delegate responsibilities, assign daily tasks, and ensure work is completed effectively.
  • Foster accountability through clear communication and consistent follow-up.
  • Identify employee concerns, recommend solutions, and promote a positive team culture.
  • Oversee daily rental operations, ensuring policies, procedures, and service standards are consistently followed.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, shift coverage, and labor efficiency.
  • Complete or delegate opening and closing duties.
  • Monitor rental accuracy, inventory, and operational reports, resolving issues proactively.
  • Organize seasonal inventory, investigate variances, and assist with equipment purchasing and disposition.
  • Coordinate rental equipment for groups, schools, and adaptive programs.
  • Maintain exceptional guest service standards throughout the department.
  • Resolve escalated guest concerns professionally.
  • Ensure employees maintain professional appearance and company standards.
  • Train, coach, and develop Leads and Technicians on operational procedures, guest service, and safety standards.
  • Support onboarding and reinforce company policies and best practices.
  • Assist with payroll, commissions, employee incentives, and departmental communications.
  • Maintain proficiency in Snow Cloud and rental software, providing support and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Partner with IT team to ensure systems, technology, and rental product setup are accurate and operational.
  • Work as a rental technician as necessary.
  • Coordinate administrative needs as required.

  • Proficiency with rental software systems, including Snow Cloud.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency required.
  • Minimum 1-year previous ski rental or retail management experience required.
  • Familiarity with rental software and resort operations required.
  • Previous management role in a resort or hospitality environment preferred.

 

 

Expected Hours of Work

This job is a seasonal full time role. It typically works during shop business hours, which can be from early in the morning to later in the evening. Shops are open 7 days per week and the schedule may require work on any day of the week. Schedules and hours may fluctuate depending on business needs.
