Description

QuikCut, LLC is growing, and we're looking for a Fabrication Department Supervisor to lead our fabrication team on 1st shift in Columbia City, Indiana. We're seeking a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people while driving quality and productivity!


What You'll Do

As the Fabrication Department Supervisor, you have hands-on oversight of daily operations of the fabrication department, including laser cutting machines, press brakes, and other cutting and forming equipment. You'll lead your team by promoting safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring production schedules are met.


Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise, coach, and develop fabrication associates operating laser cutting machines, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Plan and assign daily work to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor department performance to ensure productivity, efficiency, and quality goals are achieved.
  • Ensure parts are manufactured according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and work with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve them quickly.
  • Verify proper machine setup, tooling, and material usage to maximize efficiency and minimize scrap.
  • Train new employees and support the ongoing development of fabrication team members.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of laser cutting, press brake operations, CNC fabrication equipment, and metal forming processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with fabrication tools, measuring instruments, and quality inspection methods.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple production demands.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
