As a Senior Manager, People for our Glacier Park Collection attractions and properties, you’ll lead key People initiatives for a designated geography, helping create a consistent and exceptional team member experience across all our operations. Working closely with other Senior Managers and the broader People team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our culture company-wide.
From onboarding and recognition to training and development, you’ll support programs that touch every stage of the employee journey. In addition, you’ll oversee staff housing operations within your region, ensuring our accommodations provide a safe, clean, and positive living experience for team members.
This position reports directly to the Senior Director, People and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both workplace culture and team member well-being.
What will you do in this job?
LEADERSHIP
- Lead, coach and develop a team of direct reports, driving performance and professional growth and development
Partner in the development and implementation of People processes, procedures and programs to create a successful and engaged team, deeply connected to Pursuit’s core values.
Be a day-to-day coach and partner to business operations leaders on all aspects of People housing
Serve as the key escalation contact for resolving housing issues across your assigned geography.
In partnership with the Senior Director of People and housing team, develop KPIs to ensure staff accommodation processes are consistently performed to a high standard (arrival, departure, room changes, room checks, etc.)
Partner with housing and finance teams to establish annual rates for all accommodation types within your region.
Oversee third-party housing leases and lead capital projects that enhance and improve staff living spaces.
TEAM MEMBER EXPERIENCE
Partner closely with business operations leaders on all employee relations inquiries and matters, building operator confidence and capability and knowledge and awareness of People tools and processes
Champion Pursuit and geography specific recognition programs, partnering with operators to ensure awareness and strong execution
LEad new hire orientation sessions, and enterprise and geography specific training programs for managers and team members
Lead thorough and consistent investigations bringing them to fill resolution with all parties involved in the matter.
Support operators with the annual employee engagement survey, including preparation, participation, and interpreting results to drive action plans.
Champion the annual performance cycle by leading training, ensuring managers are equipped for effective performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning. talent and acquisition
Partner with geography operations leaders to develop staffing needs for each line of business, communicate needs and partner with the Talent Acquisition team for sourcing, recruiting, placement and onboarding of staff
Directly source and fill Operational leadership and seasonal (as needed) roles within the geography
Partner with operational leadership team for succession, talent and retention plans
Be a subject matter expert on Workday – Pursuit’s Human Capital Management system
Participates as an active member of the Pursuit People Team on broad staff-related initiatives such as staffing models, retention plans, engagement strategies, talent development and business growth
Partner and communicate frequently with People Team Support Services teams to ensure systems and processes are working for the operations teams. Help troubleshoot issues where necessary to provide quick resolution to issues.
As a key People Leader in the assigned geography, this role will support the business community through participation in HR committees and employer network meetings.
Continuously look for and recommend process improvements and areas of opportunities both within the assigned geography and broader People Team
Provides expert advice to operations managers organization structure, position titles and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, policies and growth planning.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a broad-based Human Resource/People role
Experience with all aspects of people management, coaching for performance, and corrective discipline
Demonstrated work experience in the hospitality, travel or tourism business
Experience leading a diverse team in multiple locations
Experience working with a seasonal workforce
Experience developing and leading learning, development and training programs
Moderate financial understanding to manage annual budget processes and weekly/monthly forecasting to plan
General understanding of payroll, time & attendance practices and willingness to work closely with Accounting & Payroll partners
Experience building relationships and working on teams across all levels of an organization
Functional ability to use Microsoft Office tools and relevant office equipment ideal behaviours
Must be willing and able to lead by example with high energy, motivation and drive
Must be willing and able to dive in as a hands-on leader who will participate in all aspects of People tasks and broader geography initiatives
Must be able to communicate directly and clearly, both orally and in writing
Must have a strong self-awareness and social skills
Must possess a deep curiosity and drive to succeed
Must be a proactive leader who not only sees opportunities, but follows through to a positive resolution
