Overview

The Assistant Director. Assistant Professor (Assistant Director, Outpatient NBU) assists the program director with oversight and management of all aspects of the daily operation of the Outpatient Neurobehavioral Unit (NBU).

 

Responsibilities

1. Supervises staff psychologists and junior faculty, including evaluation, mentoring, career development, recruitment, progressive discipline, performance evaluation, and termination as needed. 2. Provides direct clinical services, supervision, and case management of outpatients and intensive outpatients receiving behavioral therapy services, including providing support services to families.3. Provides leadership and program direction during occasions when director is unavailable. Represents program director at administrative meetings as needed.4. Coordinates with staff and faculty to record and prioritize agenda items for review and discussion at program leadership meetings and for director’s review and action planning.5. Serves as administrative liaison between director and program staff for daily communication, problem-solving and decision making.6. Leads assigned research projects regarding assessment and treatment of severe challenging behavior in patients referred to the Outpatient Neurobehavioral Unit.7. Provides clinical supervision by training and mentoring for doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows assigned to the Outpatient Neurobehavioral Unit.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess and maintain licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Maryland.

 

EDUCATION:Doctoral degree in psychology from a regionally accredited university required.

 

EXPERIENCE:• Minimum six years of experience in a multi-disciplinary setting addressing the medical and therapeutic needs of typically developing children and children with disabilities is required.• Minimum one year clinical internship in psychology, with specialization in pediatric behavior disorders; or, two years equivalent experience required.• Experience conducting research and communicating research findings via professional conferences, peer reviewed journals, seminars, etc. is required.
