Job DetailsJob Location: Hilton Garden Inn Home2 Suites Downtown Columbia, SC - Columbia, SC 29201Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.00 HourlyPOSITION: Breakfast Attendant DEPARTMENT: Front Desk SUPERVISOR: Front Office Manager/Assistant General Manager/General Manager   POSITION OVERVIEW: The Position involves high Guest Contact and presents the first point of contact to our guests in the morning. The breakfast host/hostess is responsible for preparing and serving the daily free breakfast bar, greeting each guest at breakfast and ensuring that guests are 100% satisfied. Organizes guest table pick-ups on completion of meals in a timely manner. Maintain a high standard of sanitation and cleanliness. Work to resolve guest challenges, ensuring guest satisfaction. Breakfast shifts are 5:00am to 12:00. This position requires you to have a high level of friendliness and attentiveness to all guests, to deliver the best service up to Brand standards. Being able to always multitask, while complying with food health code. Some basic duties include taking orders, displaying and stocking food during service hours, cleaning tables, cleaning workstation and display ware among others. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 25 pounds. Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 100 pounds. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for lengthy periods of time. Work environment: Work environment –– restaurant, and all areas of the hotel. The job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings.   JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: Be in proper uniform, with a nametag. Employees must wear flat, closed-toe non-slip shoes. Always maintain positive guest relations. Work to resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. Communicate effectively with guests as well as team members Maintain knowledge of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room rates, special packages and promotions, daily house count and expected arrivals/departures and scheduled daily group activities. Providing personalized service to all guests. Setting up and maintaining the breakfast bar in an attractive abundant looking, organized, clean and standardized presentation. Taking inventory of food, beverages, and supplies needed for each day. Ordering or purchasing food supplies Preparing foods such as fresh fruit, coffee, and juices from concentrations. Stocking coffee, juice and milk machines or dispensers. Setting up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups and other paper products. Setting out/arranging cold food such as sweet rolls, muffins, and cereal for self-service. Clearing and cleaning tables as they are vacated wiping up spills. Removing trash. Restocking self-service food and supplies as needed. Washing serving equipment and returning it to storage Returning reusable food supplies to storage. Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements. Complete opening, closing and side duties as assigned   Always maintain guest confidentiality. Assists in handling emergencies to protect our guests and associates and preserve the building and its systems during emergencies. Must act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status. Responsible for knowing and abiding by all departments, Commonwealth Lodging Management and hotel policies and procedures. As well as brand standards, policies and procedures. Good understanding of the English language, communication skills both written and verbal.
