Summary of Position: We are adding to our maintenance team! The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs all CBW equipment, facility and grounds. The Maintenance Technician will have a variety of responsibilities, ranging from advanced automated equipment repairs and installation of new equipment to simple repairs and basic service needs. Knowledge of Program Logic Control systems and accumulation conveyor is a plus.

Compensation: Up to $30.00 an hour based on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform service and maintenance on a variety of CBW equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, conveyors, stamp machine, etc.), building systems (air conditioning, heating, plumbing, etc.), vehicles (services vans, trucks, etc.), and grounds (lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc.)
  • Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns and other issues; identifies scope of repairs needed
  • Daily review and completion of facility inspections, work requests, and ground maintenance
  • Maintains general upkeep of building through miscellaneous projects and requests
  • Read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and safety procedures
  • Performs preventative maintenance checks on all mechanical equipment
  • Recognize and report hazardous conditions, take appropriate workplace safety measures and follow all OSHA and company procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must understand all lockout procedures
  • Flexible to work off shifts and work weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
  • Ability Safety troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment without close supervision
  • HVAC and/or Forklift mechanic experience highly desirable, but not required.
  • Strong mechanical background with knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • A basic computer skills, machine shop & welding skills
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and carpentry
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Highly dependable and reliable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to speak effectively with co-workers, outside vendors, and management
  • Must provide own tools
  • We will provide advanced Training for the right candidate

Education/Experience:

Two year technical degree; or two to four related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While working in the Distribution Center at Cooper-Booth, the employee is frequently exposed to varying temperatures corresponding with the seasons. If required to work in the freezer, the employee will be regularly exposed to temperatures ranging from 0 to 10 degrees F. If required to work on the cooler dock, the employee will be regularly exposed to temperatures ranging from 33 to 35 degrees F. The level of humidity in all areas ranges from very low to very high, depending on the season. The noise level in this environment is usually moderate.
