HealthCues - A Section 125 plan is a plan under IRS regulations that allows employees to set asideÂ
a portion of their paycheck through automatic deduction each pay period for spending on certainÂ
health related benefits. Money put into a Section 125 plan is “pre-tax”, meaning these funds are notÂ
included when we calculate how much in taxes to withhold from your paycheck, lowering the totalÂ
amount of taxes you pay. You will notice the amount you paid as a premium is more than theÂ
amount returned to you by HealthCues, but your paycheck is still more than what it used to be. TheÂ
reason for this is because the amount of tax savings you receive is greater than the cost of theÂ
HealthCues benefit, causing your take-home pay to increase.
