RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership
- Architect and implement scalable API solutions using Google Apigee X/Hybrid.
- Design API proxies, policies, and security models (OAuth, JWT, API keys).
- Lead integration efforts with backend systems, microservices, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Define and enforce API governance, lifecycle management, and best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor development teams on Apigee and API design.
Pre-Sales & Client Engagement
- Collaborate with sales and solution teams to understand client needs and propose tailored API solutions.
- Participate in client meetings, demos, and technical workshops.
- Develop proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and technical presentations to showcase Apigee capabilities.
- Assist in RFP/RFI responses, solution architecture documentation, and effort estimation.
Strategic Impact
- Align API strategies with broader digital transformation and AI initiatives.
- Advocate for API-first and AI-first approaches in enterprise architecture.
- Stay current with Apigee product updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience in API architecture and development.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Apigee.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth2, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
- Prior experience in pre-sales, solutioning, or consulting roles is required.
- Solid understanding of API Products, Apps, Analytics and API economy concepts
- Experience developing AI/API strategy and capability roadmaps aligning to enterprise goals
- Experience defining AI/API governance, standards & best practices, and center of excellence
- Experience developing AI/API architectures, implementations, integrations, and deployments
- Experience with GCP Networking
- Deep understanding of Apigee components and infrastructure deployment models
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
- Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms is a plus.
- A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations including ethical considerations is expected.
Preferred skills and education:
- Enterprise Architecture experience highly preferred
- Google Application Integration experience preferred
- Mulesoft, Data Power, Boomi experience nice to have
- Apigee certifications / skill badges nice to have
- Experience working with a globally distributed team and managing off-shore teams

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $202,730. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
