Job DetailsJob Location: Columbia College - Columbia, SC 29203Position Type: Part TimePosition Description The School of Business and Leadership at Columbia College invites applications for adjunct instructors in Organizational Leadership. Preferred applicants will have a terminal degree in Leadership, Organizational Management, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution with significant professional experience. The individual in this position will be primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in organizational leadership.    This role presents a valuable opportunity to actively contribute to the continued development of a reimagined School of Business and Leadership and the strategic expansion of its undergraduate and graduate programs. Located in Columbia, South Carolina, the School currently serves approximately 550 students engaged in learning and research across multiple instructional modalities. With strong industry partnerships and a longstanding commitment to student success, the School is well positioned for growth and innovation as it seeks to expand its reach within the service area and beyond.   QualificationsResponsibilities The ideal candidate will: Teach and assess online and/or in-seat courses in the undergraduate and graduate organizational leadership programs. Commit to deliver stimulating and effective outcomes-based learning to a culturally and economically diverse population of students by integrating classroom, field-based, distance learning, and assessment. Develop, in collaboration with the Director/Chair, faculty and Dean, curricula and pedagogical approaches for the program and its growth trajectory. Actively engage with the leadership industry, government and non-profit communities and other stakeholders; a professional network is critical. Render other School and College duties as may be assigned consonant with the usual expectations of this position.   Minimum Qualifications   Master’s degree in Leadership, Organizational Management, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution with significant professional experience. The candidate will also show a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, service, and professional experience. Preferred Qualifications   The successful candidate will need the following: Preferred applicants will have a terminal degree in Leadership, Organizational Management, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. Significant experience working in leadership. Ability to teach effectively in a wide range of leadership courses. Passionate about teaching, preferably evidenced by good student evaluations and peer assessments; must be able to demonstrate teaching capabilities. Candidates must be proficient in a wide variety of teaching modalities including synchronous and asynchronous on-line and hybrid. Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues are essential. Experience working effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community and business community. Proven ability to work well with a broad range of stakeholders. Involvement with community engaged learning preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills in professional or academic areas are desirable.
