About the role

The Pediatric Physical Therapist is a part-time, hourly position responsible for providing evaluation and treatment services for children from birth through age 18. This role focuses on improving functional mobility, strength, coordination, and independence through individualized, evidence-based care.

Therapists at The Therapy Place work with a wide range of pediatric diagnoses, including gross motor delays, neuromuscular and developmental disorders, orthopedic conditions, and mobility limitations. You will develop plans of care, provide hands-on treatment, and collaborate with families to support progress across home, school, and community environments.

This position offers flexible, reduced hours and is ideal for clinicians seeking a part-time schedule, whether balancing family commitments, pursuing additional work, or transitioning workloads. Scheduling is designed to align with therapist availability and clinic needs, allowing for a consistent but adaptable caseload.

You’ll work within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team that includes occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, educators, and support staff. Therapists have the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, including within the Bridges School program, while maintaining a manageable schedule and strong work-life balance.

What you'll do

  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Provide direct, evidence-based therapy services to pediatric patients
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Educate caregivers and provide home exercise programs to support carryover
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, orthotics, and mobility supports as appropriate
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with clinic, state, and payer requirements
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and professional standards
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, educators, and administrative staff
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and care coordination

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Eligible for and maintains South Carolina Physical Therapy licensure
  • Experience or strong interest in pediatric physical therapy
  • Strong clinical reasoning and ability to adapt treatment to individual needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Passion for working with children and supporting families
