OverviewĀ 

As a Clinical Specialist at Stryker, you will help improve orthopedic surgeries around the world and play a direct role in our mission of making healthcare better. In this role, you will build deep clinical and technicalĀ expertiseĀ across both robotic (MakoĀ SmartRoboticsā„¢) and manual orthopedic procedures. You will support surgeons in the operating room byĀ assistingĀ with pre-operative planning, case preparation, system setup, and real-time procedural workflows to ensure safe,Ā accurate, and efficient outcomes.Ā

You will gain hands-on experience working with Mako technology—including CT-based planning, implant sizing, registration, and intra-operative support—while also developing strong competency in manual procedures, instrumentation, and OR protocols. Through shadowing experienced team members, supporting product demonstrations, andĀ participatingĀ in labs and education programs, you willĀ learnĀ the systems, processes, and best practices that define world-class clinical support.Ā

This role requires adaptability, steady composure, and strong problem-solving in a fast-paced surgical environment. Because patients’ needsĀ don’tĀ follow business hours, you will alsoĀ participateĀ in on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure uninterrupted support for urgent cases and time-sensitive customer needs.Ā 

What You Will DoĀ 

  • Gain competency in solo case coverage for manual and robotic procedures through hands-on training.Ā 

  • AssistĀ surgeons with pre-operative CT-based planning, implant sizing, and positioning using advanced software.Ā 

  • Support full case preparation, including instrumentation checks, equipment setup, and OR readiness.Ā 

  • Troubleshoot technical issues confidently and efficiently in the operating room.Ā 

  • Learn and supportĀ workflowĀ for daily account coordination, including inventory management andĀ logistics.Ā 

  • Shadow experienced teammates to understand territory dynamics and surgeon preferences.Ā 

  • Participate in product demonstrations, cadaver labs, education programs, and customer training events.Ā 

  • Build andĀ maintainĀ strong, trust-based relationships with surgeons, OR staff, and cross-functional partners.Ā 

  • Manage administrative tasks related to accounts, system updates, and case documentation.Ā 

  • Collaborate with sales partners to ensure seamless execution andĀ a unifiedĀ customer experience.Ā 

  • CompleteĀ requiredĀ trainings, competencies, and certifications.Ā 

  • Provide on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays.Ā 

What You NeedĀ 

MinimumĀ Required:Ā 

  • Bachelor’s degreeĀ Ā Ā

  • Associate degree with 4 years of professional and/or related experienceĀ 

  • ORĀ Ā 

  • High school diploma with 6 years of professional and/or related experienceĀ

Preferred:Ā 

  • 1 year of relevant work experience.Ā 

  • PreviousĀ clinical experience (nursing, physical therapy, surgical technology, athletic training, personal training, medical scribing, etc.).Ā Ā 

  • Ā Extracurricular involvement such as community service, leadership organizations, or athletic teams.Ā Ā Ā Ā 

Additional InformationĀ 

  • This position requires the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or bodily fluids. In compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Stryker will provide a safe working environment for all employees.Ā 

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.Ā Ā 

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.Ā Ā Ā Ā 

  • Ability to manage stressful OR situations with professionalism and focusĀ 

  • Exerting up to 50Ā lbsĀ of force occasionally and/or up to 20Ā lbsĀ of force constantly to move objects.Ā 

  • MustĀ have a valid driver’s license.Ā 

  • Fluency in written and spoken EnglishĀ required.Ā
