Sheet Metal Foreman - Commercial Construction

Sign-On Bonus Opportunity for Qualified Candidates



W.B. Guimarin is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Foreman to lead field crews on large commercial and industrial construction projects, including schools, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, industrial facilities, and other large commercial projects.



For the right candidate, a sign-on bonus may be available based on experience and qualifications.



We're looking for a strong field leader who can take ownership of the sheet metal portion of a project. The right Foreman will be able to plan ahead, lead the crew, coordinate with our fabrication shop and project management team, and keep the work on schedule.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise commercial sheet metal crews
  • Plan work according to the construction schedule, including manpower, materials, equipment, and installation sequencing
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and project documents
  • Lay out and draw ductwork and fittings for fabrication by the sheet metal shop
  • Coordinate fabrication requirements and schedules with shop personnel
  • Complete and verify material takeoffs
  • Coordinate prefabrication, materials, staging, and field installation
  • Manage labor, materials, tools, and equipment efficiently
  • Monitor productivity, schedules, workmanship, and quality
  • Use Microsoft Teams and other company computer systems to accurately submit crew time and work hours to HR
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, shop personnel, customers, other trades, and crew members
  • Anticipate upcoming needs and resolve field issues
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite



Qualifications

  • Significant commercial sheet metal/HVAC construction experience required
  • Previous experience supervising sheet metal crews and projects from start to finish
  • 10 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong blueprint and specification reading skills
  • Ability to lay out and draw ductwork and fittings for shop fabrication
  • Experience with material takeoffs, prefabrication, and quality control
  • Ability to develop a work plan based on the project schedule and coordinate manpower and materials accordingly
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively with project management and shop personnel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must meet company driving requirements
  • Must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including a fit-for-duty physical and drug screen
