Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Department of Soldier Care, Moncrief Army Health Clinic, Fort Jackson, SC
Duty Hours: Monday – Friday, 0500 – 0200 

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care in support of the Department of Soldier Care at Moncrief Army Health Clinic. The LPN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician and is responsible for delivering safe, effective nursing care to a diverse patient population while supporting diagnostic procedures, patient education, and clinical operations.

Qualifications

Education:
Certificate or graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate state agency and accredited by the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).

Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of practical or vocational nursing experience after graduation.

Licensure/Registration:
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Practical or Vocational Nurse.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to a variety of patient populations.

  • Complete assigned patient care based on patient conditions, using judgment to select the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments.

  • Accurately recognize, report, and document relevant patient information.

  • Observe, identify, and respond to patient care needs, including medication administration, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.

  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies and procedures.

  • Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance from RN and/or MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.

  • Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and specialized procedures, including preparing patients, assisting during examinations, preparing and handling specialized instruments or equipment, and monitoring patient conditions before, during, and after procedures.

  • Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies, procedures, skills, and standards of practice.

  • Promote and integrate healthy work environment principles that support improved patient care, patient and family education, and employee satisfaction.

  • Enter, manipulate, and retrieve information from automated systems such as Genesis and MEDPROS.


Monday – Friday 0500 - 1400 early-day schedule offering consistency and the benefit of having your afternoons free.
Full-time position (40 hours/week) with a stable Monday – Friday early shift (0500 - 1400) no nights or weekends.
