Job DetailsJob Location: Ohio HQ - COLUMBUS, OH 43204Salary Range: $26.00 - $32.00 Hourly  Primary Purpose: Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard; and installs doors, frames, and door hardware using carpenters hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes.     Duties and Responsibilities:   Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated Selects specified type of lumber or other materials; Prepares layout, using rule, framing square, and calipers; Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, using pencil, chalk, and marking gage; Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using saws, chisels, and planes; Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue; Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenters level; Erects framework for structures and lays subflooring; Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work; Covers subfloor with building paper to keep out moisture; Applies shock absorbing and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls; Fits and installs pre-fabricated window frames, doors, door frames, and hardware; Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete; Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.     QualificationsRequirements/Qualifications:   High school diploma Three (3) years commercial construction experience Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy Apply shop mathematics to solve problems Plan work and select proper tools Perform a variety of duties which may change often Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked Physically, workers must be able to: Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders; lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs.; reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, and see well (either naturally or with correction).       The above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
