The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager I to join our CMCI team in our Cincinnati office. 


This role is responsible for managing construction projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and client expectations. The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills along with experience leading construction teams, coordinating stakeholders, and successfully delivering projects in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you will manage all aspects of construction project execution, including project planning, coordination, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, communication, and overall project delivery. You will serve as a primary liaison between clients, contractors, project teams, and stakeholders while ensuring projects maintain quality, safety, and performance standards.


You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve challenges, maintain project schedules, manage budgets, and support successful project outcomes from preconstruction through completion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction projects through all phases of project delivery, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities.
  • Establish and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, contractors, design professionals, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams.
  • Review project plans and specifications for compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project requirements.
  • Review and manage cost estimates, change orders, requests for information (RFIs), submittals, and contract modifications.
  • Monitor project performance and communicate project status regarding budget, schedule, quality, and construction progress to clients and leadership.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal support teams including Landscape Architecture, Electrical, Traffic, Plan Review, Program Management, Environmental, Utilities, Hydraulics, Bridge, Geotechnical, Materials Testing, and other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee project contract administration and correspondence activities.
  • Identify and resolve project issues, disputes, and risks while maintaining project objectives and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and assess project staffing requirements and coordinate personnel assignments.
  • Supervise and mentor inspectors, materials testers, and other project personnel assigned to projects.
  • Support proposal preparation, budgeting activities, and project planning efforts as required.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality standards, safety requirements, and project management procedures.


What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing construction projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or related professional certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management practices, construction methods, and contract administration principles.
  • Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, materials testing, and construction engineering practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and project teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
