Job Summary

The Trailer Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing multiple tasks using a variety of hand-held tools and equipment to install and assemble Sidump'r trailers. This role requires the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, work effectively in a team setting, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in a manufacturing environment.  

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Operate various hand-held, pneumatic, and electric power tools and other machinery.  

  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, and bill of material lists.  

  • Work with various building materials.  

  • Supply work areas with materials using an overhead crane, forklift, hand/powered carts, or by carrying items manually.  

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and ensure equipment is properly cared for.  

  • Observe all safety and security procedures and demonstrate a commitment to a safety and quality culture.  

  • Perform assigned tasks to meet or exceed established labor standards.  

  • Proactively identify potential cost savings and minimize scrap and waste.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  

  • Basic computer knowledge.  

  • Knowledge and use of basic hand tools, including electrical and pneumatic tools.  

  • Ability to work in a team setting and demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills.  

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, basic electrical functions, and the ability to learn trailer air and hydraulic systems.  

  • Ability to work 4 10-hour shifts with the potential for overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.  

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, walking, talking, or hearing.  

  • Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.  

  • Occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.  

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and potentially up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques and equipment.  

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing setting, occasionally in outside weather conditions.  

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, ambient air, hot and cold temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, traffic, and chemicals.  

  • Noise level is usually moderate but occasionally high.
