About The Position

 Wellhart is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position at a multi-specialty clinic in Ohio. This 15-day assignment starts on 07/01/2025, with a potential for extension. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive emergency care in a free-standing ED, working 12-hour shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM or 8 PM to 8 AM. Responsibilities include managing patient care, collaborating with mid-level providers, handling documentation, and coordinating transfers for trauma cases and admissions. The successful applicant should be comfortable with Emergency Medicine procedures and be proficient with Allscripts and Paragon electronic health record systems.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a free-standing ED

• Manage patient care independently during 12-hour shifts

• Collaborate with mid-level providers during overlapping hours (12 PM - 12 AM)

• Handle all aspects of patient documentation

• Assess and stabilize trauma cases for transfer to tertiary centers

• Coordinate patient transfers for admissions to appropriate facilities

• Utilize Allscripts and Paragon electronic health record systems for documentation

• Adhere to emergency department protocols and best practices

• Maintain efficiency in a dynamic emergency setting

• Demonstrate strong decision-making skills for patient care and transfers

Additional Information:

• Ohio state medical license required
