Hourly Full-Time / Our maintenance technicians generally work a four day 10-hour schedule…Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm with every fourth Friday scheduled as an 8-hour day (7:00am-3:30pm).

 

About The Role:

This position supports International Paper’s Columbus Cellulose Fibers (CCF) facility, located in Columbus, Mississippi.  CCF is a vital part of IP’s Global Cellulose Fibers Business.  This is a J1 level Electrical Maintenance Technician position responsible for completing scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties, both as part of a team and independently. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair, conduit and wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting and repair, drive troubleshooting and repair, as well as instrumentation / control valve calibration, troubleshooting and repair.

About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Must be at least age 18
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • Three (3) or more years verifiable experience as a J1 Electrical technician
  • Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience
  • Must possess high standards in the areas of safety, quality, ethics, craftsmanship, customer focus, and leadership skills.
  • Skilled in maintenance and troubleshooting of Electrical related equipment and process problems
  • Knowledge of key operating areas, PLCs AC & DC drives, analog and digital field instrumentation, and DCS equipment.

 

Preferred:

  • Two year Associate Degree in any of the IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines (Instrumentation or Electrical).
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong math/physics understanding
  • Prior experience as a multi-skilled Electrical/Instrumentation Technician
