POSITION SUMMARY:Ā 

The Commercial Lines Marketing AssociateĀ is responsible forĀ the marketing, quoting, andĀ bindingĀ new commercial insurance business in the lower-middle market segment.Ā Ā This role works directly with producers and carriers to placeĀ businessĀ alignment with Hub Heartland's coverage standards, preferred carrier partnerships, and strategic initiativesĀ and isĀ responsible for quoting, binding, and issuing policies on house accounts as directed by the Chief Marketing Officer, working closely with the service team.Ā Ā

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ā 

New Business MarketingĀ 

  • Market new business across all lines of commercial insurance in the lower-middle market segment, working directly with producers and carriers to place coverage aligned with company standards, preferred carrier partnerships, and initiatives, and directlyĀ impactĀ revenue goals through new business acquisition.Ā 

  • Quote, bind, and issue policies for house accounts as directed by the Chief MarketingĀ Officer andĀ manage call-in and cross-departmental spin-off business that does not require an assigned producer, including submission gathering, quoting, and binding of coverage.Ā 

  • UnderwriteĀ commercial accounts within insurance company delegated underwriting authority, guidelines, and procedures.Ā 

  • Prepare and coordinate building replacement cost valuations andĀ determineĀ flood zones using available resources; verifyĀ appropriate ratingĀ classifications, such as GL and auto class codes for new businessĀ submitted; andĀ assistĀ in obtaining other information needed to support the underwriting submission.Ā

Internal RelationshipsĀ 

  • Conduct internal handoff meetings with the assigned service team onceĀ newĀ business is bound, ensuring a clean transition of account details and expectations.Ā 

  • Coordinate directly with Hub specialty practice groups across the boundaryless resource network to secure market access and quotes for specialized lines of coverage.Ā 

  • Serve as a point of contact for producers on new business submission preparation, reviewing materials for alignment with Hub Heartland coverage standards before submissions are routed to carriers.Ā 

Carrier Relationships & Industry KnowledgeĀ 

  • Attend carrier meetings and build relationships with insurance company underwriters through professional risk submissions, carrier visitation, and fair but firm negotiation.Ā 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of carrier appetite, coverage advantages, program changes, line of business trends, rating technique, and coverage development.Ā 

  • AssistĀ in the analysis of line of business and carrier production trends, and recommend corrective action where deficiencies areĀ identified.Ā 

Ā 

Operations & Quality ControlĀ 

  • Responsible for allĀ post binding activities, including carrier documentation andĀ agency management system (EPIC)Ā entry.Ā Ā 

  • Ensure marketing workflows are captured in the agency management systemĀ in accordance withĀ Hub Heartland policies and procedures.Ā 

  • Execute a quality control process for all proposals and quotations delivered, assuring coverage, condition, rating, and pricing accuracy.Ā 

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Marketing OfficerĀ

KNOWLEDGE AREASĀ 

  • Three years of experience in commercial insurance.Ā 

  • Three years of experience in marketing or underwriting.Ā 

  • Thorough knowledge of commercialĀ linesĀ coverages and markets, including property and casualty rating.Ā 

  • Producer'sĀ licenseĀ required.Ā 

  • ProficiencyĀ with Microsoft Office applications.Ā 

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with producers, carriers, and service teams.Ā 

Department Account Management & Service

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: Up to 25%

Required Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
