Job Summary: 

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of reliable power solutions for various industrial UPS and battery charging applications. Your expertise will be essential in enhancing the reliability and performance of power systems. This role is an excellent opportunity for mid-career engineers seeking to develop expertise in power systems while contributing to impactful projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot power electronic systems and components, including converters, inverters, PCBAs, and power supplies.
  • Lead research initiatives to enhance existing technologies and explore innovative solutions.
  • Conduct testing to resolve technical issues related to PCBAs and power electronics during various stages of product development and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as purchasing, QA, and manufacturing.
  • Create and review technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and test plans.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics.
  • Experience within the electrical or electronics industry.
  • A solid understanding of inverters, transformers, and PCBA components.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing PCBA and/or power electronic systems and components.
  • Knowledge of power semiconductor devices, such as IGBTs, SCR’s, capacitors, and diodes, and their application in various power conversion topologies.
  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with hardware design and circuit prototyping.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • A strong desire to learn and contribute to innovative electrical solutions. 
  • Must possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills, the ability to work closely with other team members to meet objectives and deadlines.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the electrical and/or power electronics industry.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, UL).
  • Knowledge of electrical applications for high and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with EMI mitigation techniques in circuit design.

This position is located in Columbus, Ohio. Columbus will keep you entertained all year.  During the warmer months, Columbus hosts food and music festivals, organizes art walks, and provides plenty of beautiful spots for hiking and biking.  During the colder months, Columbus offers ice skating, sledding, and holiday markets and festivals.  All year long, one can visit museums such as COSI Columbus (which was voted the best science museum in the US in 2020, 2021, and 2022!), check out art galleries, walk around the zoo, patron the North Market (a public market that has been around for 145 years), and spend time at the many local parks.
