Bluegrass Supply Chain Services, LLC

Columbus, OH

Salary Range: 65-75K & 7% bonus potential

About Us

Bluegrass Supply Chain Services provides value-added warehousing and logistics management services across 18 sites in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Alabama, and Georgia. This role supports 80+ team members in OH, IN & KY. We're committed to building rewarding career paths for our people — through the recognition program, hands-on skill development, and real pathways into leadership. At Bluegrass, HR isn't just a support function; it's part of how we build a culture people want to stay for.

Purpose

We're seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support our multi-site distribution network. This role owns day-to-day HR execution across recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and training & development — and plays a direct role in how our frontline workforce experiences Bluegrass. This is a hands-on role: you'll spend meaningful time on the warehouse floor building relationships with site leaders and hourly team members, not just working from a desk.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and works closely with the broader HR team supporting our site network.

Requirements

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Own full-cycle recruitment for assigned sites including job postings, screening, interview coordination, and offer support.
  • Lead new employee orientation and ensure a consistent, well-run onboarding experience across sites.
  • Maintain accurate job descriptions and partner with site leadership to ensure staffing needs are met.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned sites, independently resolving day-to-day employee relations issues including but not limited to attendance, performance concerns, and workplace conflicts and escalating complex or high-risk matters appropriately.
  • Support workplace investigations and document findings clearly and professionally.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs and site-level culture efforts.

Compliance & Policy Implementation

  • Ensure compliance with  federal, state, and local labor laws, and consistent application of company policy across sites.
  • Support safety-related compliance efforts in partnership with the Safety team, including documentation and corrective action processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in Paylocity and support audits, investigations, and HR reporting as needed.

HR Operations & Support

  • Manage HR data and generate reports that inform site and leadership decision-making.
  • Coordinate HR programs including recognition, wellness, and training initiatives.
  • Identify and drive improvements to HR processes across the site network.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience in HR or a related function; multi-site or warehouse/distribution/manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Comfortable navigating frontline employee relations issues independently, not just escalating them.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; able to build trust quickly with hourly team members and site leaders alike.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
  • This position supports multi-sites and multiple state facilities. Travel up to 40% is a requirement of this role, including overnight stays.
