Hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday

OHASP licensure is required


 

Job Description Summary:


 

Provides oral health care, dental health education, and remediable intraoral procedures to patients in the hospital clinic.


 

Job Description:


 

Essential Functions:

  • Examines patients' teeth and gums to identify any oral health issues.
  • Cleans teeth by removing plaque, tartar, and stains.
  • Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provides advice on diet and lifestyle choices that can impact oral health.
  • Administers local anesthesia and applies cavity-preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants.
  • Takes and develops dental X-rays to help diagnose dental problems.
  • Keeps detailed patient records and maintains a clean and sterile work environment.


Education Requirement:

  • Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene school, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.


Licensure Requirement:

  • Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Passed the National Boards, required.
  • Passed the Northeast Regional Boards, required.


Certifications:

Certified in CPR, required.


Skills:

  • Robust communication skills, required.
  • Demonstrates ability to treat and teach healthy and medically compromised patients.
  • Possesses strong manual dexterity.


Experience:

Six months of relevant experience, preferred.
