We are looking for a talented Instrumentation Technical Support Specialist  to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Performs routine and repetitive test, set-ups and calibrations. 
  • Runs emissions tests. 
  • Installs terminals, fabricates and assembles electronic systems and test cells. 
  • Constructs and installs test cell harnesses. 
  • Fabricates test rigs and fixtures. 
  • Completes minor mechanical system assembly. 
  • Installs, calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs gauges, transducers, heat exchangers, cooling systems, smoke meters, fuel systems measurement and oil consumption test rigs. 
  • Operates less complex data acquisition systems as directed. 
  • Uses a number of general tools including but not limited to digital multimeter, soldering iron, function generator, and frequency generator. 
  • Reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams. 
  • Executes written test plans and reports on test results in a specified format. 
  • Assists technicians and engineers as required. 
  • Understands and applies appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines to work. 
  • Interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers and other functions. 
  • Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures. 
  • Participates in improvement projects. 
  • Develops and gives presentations to customers and suppliers. 
  • Maintains cleanliness within the workplace. 
  • Knows and complies with departmental safety policies and procedures. 
  • Demonstrates confidentiality as required. 
  • Participates in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action. 
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.
