Position Summary

 

The Legal Intern will support high‑impact initiatives within the company’s in‑house Legal function, with a primary focus on legal operations, contract lifecycle management, and process optimization. This role is project‑based and designed to provide hands‑on exposure to how a corporate legal department partners with the business, manages risk, and enables efficient contracting at scale.

 

The intern will play an active role in the continued development and optimization of Ironclad (CLM), support NDA and contract workflows, and contribute to legal process improvements that enhance visibility, efficiency, and compliance across the organization. The intern will have the opportunity to participate in some contract reviews.

 

Position Responsibilities

 

Legal Operations & CLM Projects (Ironclad)

  • Support strategic onboarding, configuration, and optimization of the Ironclad contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform.
  • Lead defined projects related to contract repository organization, metadata strategy, and reporting readiness.
  • Analyze and help improve contract intake, routing, and execution workflows to support efficiency and consistency.
  • Assist with development of dashboards and metrics related to contract volume, cycle time, and status tracking.
  • Partner with Legal leadership to identify opportunities to enhance CLM adoption and user experience across the business.

 

Contract Workflow Support

  • Support contract review processes using established templates and playbooks, including preparation of initial redlines under supervision.
  • Coordinate contract workflows from intake through execution, ensuring alignment with Legal standards and timelines.
  • Assist in standardizing and documenting NDA and contract processes to support scalability and consistency.
  • Escalate non‑standard terms or issues to the Sr. Manager, Legal and Compliance; final approvals remain with Legal leadership.

 

Corporate Legal Process & Governance Support

  • Assist with organization and management of corporate legal records, resolutions, and governance documentation.
  • Support legal documentation initiatives related to compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls.
  • Contribute to process documentation, templates, and playbooks that support Legal and cross‑functional teams.
  • Gain exposure to entity management, corporate governance, and in‑house legal decision‑making.

 

Cross‑Functional & Strategic Support

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Procurement, HR, Finance, Operations) on contract‑related initiatives and workflow improvements.
  • Participate in special projects aligned with Legal Operations priorities and business needs.
  • Prepare summaries, trackers, and project updates for Legal leadership.
  • Perform additional project‑based work as assigned.

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Pursuing a Juris Doctor or related degree.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet project deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interest in corporate/business law, legal operations, or in‑house legal careers.
  • Experience or interest in process improvement, systems, or workflow optimization.
  • Familiarity with contract management tools, e‑signature platforms, or document repositories is preferred
  • Comfort working with data, trackers, and basic reporting.

 

Learning & Development Opportunities
