Maintenance Technician II – Drywall & Advanced Maintenance Specialist (PSH Portfolio)
Full-Time | Competitive Pay | Excellent Benefits

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Commons at Grant is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II with a strong background in drywall repair and finishing along with well-rounded apartment maintenance skills to support our Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) portfolio.

Due to the complexity of unit turns and repair needs within PSH communities, this role is ideal for a hands-on technician who can independently complete high-quality drywall work while also handling advanced maintenance tasks across multiple trades. Our goal is to reduce contractor dependency, improve unit turnaround times, and maintain safe, quality housing for residents.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete unit turns with minimal contractor support in PSH properties

  • Perform advanced drywall installation, patching, texturing, finishing, sanding, and repair work

  • Handle carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance repairs

  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems

  • Address water damage, wall restoration, and interior repair needs efficiently

  • Perform preventive maintenance and maintain common areas and occupied units

  • Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally, and in compliance with company standards and building codes

  • Maintain maintenance documentation, inventory, and supply tracking

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of residential or apartment maintenance experience required

  • Strong drywall experience is the primary requirement for this role

  • Advanced skills in drywall finishing, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work

  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex maintenance issues

  • HVAC experience preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete high-quality unit turns

  • High school diploma or GED required (technical training or certifications are a plus)

  • Valid driver’s license required

Additional Requirements

  • On-call rotation required (24/7 including evenings, weekends, holidays)

  • $60/month mobile phone allowance provided
