Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for a Payroll Specialist for our Columbus, Ohio location.

Role Summary: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team. This role is responsible for accurately processing payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding pay-related questions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process biweekly/semimonthly payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees
  • Maintain and audit employee payroll records for accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies
  • Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and garnishments
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams as needed
  • Assist with year-end activities, including W-2 processing

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations (FLSA, state taxes, garnishments)
  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Lyric)
  • Experience supporting multi-state payroll (Preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
