JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists pharmacists to provide medication and other health care products to patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fills routine prescriptions with prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
  • Keeps maintenance of records on prescriptions and inventory, and prepares labels.
  • May process insurance claims and provide detailed prescription receipts.
  • Resolves problems related to prescription inquiries.
  • Responsible for implementing inventory control procedures and ordering merchandise within regulatory guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions. Organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level              

Completion of accredited program

Years of Experience       

2 years of experience preferred

Certification/Licensure 

CPHT licensure preferred
