Research Assoc, Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, OH. Conduct research on genetic mechanisms underlying Prune Belly Syndrome (PBS) & posterior cloaca malformations. Establish & maintain patient-derived iPSC biobank, incl reprogramming, maintenance & characterization of iPSCs using immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, RT-PCR & Western blot to assess pluripotency. PBMC & urine sample processing from patients & families for downstream analysis & biobanking. Perform molecular cloning & site-directed mutagenesis for plasmid generation. Resp for general lab maintenance. Min. req incl: Bachelor’s in Bio, Biotech or Microbio, plus 1 yr exp in molecular bio techniques (RNA, DNA & protein extraction, cDNA synthesis & RT-PCR), immunofluorescence (mouse tissues, imaging, cryosectioning & mouse handling), ELISA & cell culture techniques.
