Shift Schedule

Rotating Shift 4X7:

  • 1st shift: Mon-Fri: 7A-3:30P; Sat-Sun 7A-7:30P

  • 2nd shift: Mon-Fri: 3P-11:30P

  • 3rd shift: Mon-Fri: 11P- 7:30A; Sat-Sun 7P-7:30A

  • "4th Shift": OFF 5 days

Description of Role:

The Maintenance Shift Technician (Flex Line 6 Sigle Serve) responds to unplanned work orders to safely and quickly bring equipment back to production status. Troubleshoot, diagnose and make required repairs that include but are not limited to controls, electrical and mechanical equipment and systems during factory runtime and down time while also driving continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent education

  • 3+ years of experience in a maintenance capacity within a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems

  • Proficient using computer software’s (ex: MS Office, SAP, and email)

Physical Requirements:

  • Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)

  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.

  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.

  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours

  • Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions

  • Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or certification(s)

  • Read and interpret blueprints as well as basic/intermediate electrical schematics and PLC ladder logic.

  • Basic material machining and welding knowledge

  • Forklift experience

  • Knowledge of electrical systems; 480-VAC 3 phase, 240 volt through 110 VAC single phase and 24 VDC systems

  • Predictive and conditioned maintenance skills

  • Proficient in the use of industrial mechanics tools, electrician’s tools, instrumentation and controls tools and rigging/millwork tools.

What will be your Key Responsibilities?

  • Ensure complete and timely closeout of unplanned work orders with a clear description of the observed problems, actions taken and follow-ups

  • Inspect equipment for wear, metal fatigue and damage.

  • Communicate issues observed to the System Technician and develop solutions for recurrent issues.

  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.

  • Work with the System Technicians to improve performance of systems.

  • Train associates new to the area.

  • Support department with overtime, covering short staffing on shifts during call offs and vacation.

  • Comply to Mars Petcare quality and food safety policies, procedures, QMP and other auditable quality, food safety and regulatory standards in order to ensure a safe and quality product intended to delight the consumer.
