About the Role:

The Skilled Nursing Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a skilled nursing facility. This position is responsible for providing compassionate and attentive support to residents, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring their comfort and safety. The CNA will work every other week from 11 PM to 7 AM, collaborating closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans. This role demands a strong commitment to patient dignity, effective communication, and adherence to healthcare regulations and protocols. Ultimately, the CNA contributes significantly to the overall well-being and recovery of residents by fostering a supportive and respectful care environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Georgia.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
  • Basic understanding of patient care procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Physical capability to perform duties including lifting, transferring, and assisting residents.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems ( Care)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on compassionate patient care.
  • Additional training or certification in specialized care areas such as dementia or hospice care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding as needed.
  • Monitor and document residents’ health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to nursing staff.
  • Support mobility and exercise routines to promote physical health and prevent complications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.

Skills:

The required skills enable the CNA to provide direct and effective patient care, ensuring residents’ needs are met with professionalism and empathy. Communication skills are essential for accurately reporting patient conditions and collaborating with the healthcare team.
