This position supports Global Cellulose Fiber’s Columbus Mill (CCF), located in Columbus, Mississippi.  We are a converting operation that produces specialty fibers used in the production of diapers and other absorbent personal care products.

 

About the Role

The Storeroom MRP Coordinator role that provides material ordering/procurement support for all materials needed for production and maintenance operations at the Columbus Mill. 

  • Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Procurement of storeroom inventory materials through the SAP Material Requirements Planning program.
  • Issue, maintain, and update purchase orders to vendors for all storeroom materials
  • SAP Materials – duties include but are not limited to:
  • Setting up new inventory items
  • Converting temporary numbers to GCF standard material numbers
  • Provide historical inventory data to support material optimization reviews.
  • Work directly with vendors to confirm orders are received and updated timely.
  • Ensure vendor blocked payments are released and paid timely through PO management.
  • Assists with maintaining Repairable Assets – duties include but are not limited to:
  • Work with Management, Planners, and Process Owners to determine where equipment should be shipped for repairs.
  • Maintain status report of all repairable assets. The report should include the item #, its current physical location, its status (pending approval, waiting on core, waiting to be shipped, currently being repaired, etc.)
  • Prepare for and arrange for the shipment of repairable assets as needed
  • Reconcile P-card activity if needed.
  • Assists the Storeroom Supervisor in inventory management and sometimes covers in their absence.
  • Coaches’ safety in others and leads by example.
  • Understands and meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Develops, maintains, and uses reliable methods for all processes and their improvements.
  • Assists other team members in the mill as necessary to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
  • Maintains and develops team relationships.
  • Develops cross-functional process skills.
  • Flows to work as needed.
  • Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) related to the tasks.

 

Working Environment

  • Must be able to wear all required safety equipment including eye protection, hearing protection, and fall protection in elevated positions
  • Heat in excess of 100 F or Cold below 0 F
  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs, ladders.
  • Carrying:  Periodically tools and equipment.
  • Some assignments may require kneeling, crouching and twisting while handling Stores inventory to verify material on hand prior to placing orders.

 

About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work in a HWPS team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control methods and procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of reconciliation process.
  • Proven record of Safe Work Practices.
  • Customer focused.
  • Working knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office and SAP or similar system).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing equipment and parts.

 

Preferred

  • General accounting knowledge for inventory and P-Card reconciliation.
  • Two to three years procurement, purchasing, or storeroom experience.
  • Experience in a team-based, customer and quality focused organization.
  • Knowledge of and leadership in mill safety practices.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with SAP.
