Job Title: Tax Associate

The Team You Will Join:

You’ll join a dynamic team committed to elevating the company through process improvement and tax strategy. You will strategize, forecast, analyze, audit and research topics that have a direct impact on LC.

Who You Are:

As the Tax Associate, you will play an integral role in ensuring the organization’s compliance with tax laws and regulations.  You will be tasked with preparing tax returns, assisting with tax audits, researching tax-related matters, and supporting the overall tax strategy of the company.

The Difference You Will Make:

  • Complete analysis and prepare various returns including Federal, State & Local for corporate and partnership entities. 

  • Assist the tax manager with tax audits, inquiries, and controversies, including responding to tax authorities’ requests for information, providing documentation, and resolving tax-related issues.  

  • Identify potential tax risks and communicate those to the tax team.  

  • Assist the tax manager with planning and forecasting throughout the year. 

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance tax compliance processes, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. 

  • Stay up to date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.  

  • Assist the tax manager with in-depth research and analysis on tax issues.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, legal, and business units, to gather and analyze relevant financial and operational data for tax compliance purposes. 

  • Assist the tax manager with other ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related business discipline required. A minimum of two (2) years of previous and relevant tax compliance experience desired, especially within the real estate industry. CPA certification preferred.  Experience with a public accounting firm or real estate company preferred but not required.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, is required. Experience with CCH Axcess is preferred but not required.
