Job Description Summary:


 

Coordinates resources and volunteer services to contribute to providing an environment that is supportive of families receiving care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH).


 

Job Description:


 

Essential Functions:
  • Facilitates recruiting, interviewing, placing, training, supervising, evaluating and recognizing volunteers. Assure that standards and are being met related to organizational, regulatory and legal standards.
  • Identifies areas for volunteer involvement and collaborates in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs to sustain the mission of NCH through the participation of volunteers. Partner with NCH departments in the development of volunteer roles and their continuing education and support.
  • Creates and maintains key program materials and communications including but not limited to training curriculum and related materials, program information on NCH website, newsletters, announcements, and supportive materials.
  • Manage the collection, tracking, and security of volunteer records within electronic database. Produce reports for internal and external use. Coordinate volunteer schedules and maintain communications with volunteer liaisons and volunteers.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of the volunteer program seeking areas for improvement, acknowledging successes, and noting areas of growing need. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and projects inside and outside of FVS as needed.
  • Participates in professional networking and continuing education initiatives to advance knowledge and skills for self and others. Collaborates and benchmarks with other volunteer programs to enhance services, processes, programs.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in organizational development, human resources management, social work, public relations, or related field, required.

Skills:
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Three years volunteer management experience, required
  • Experience in program planning, management, and education, required.
  • Experience in a volunteer management database, preferred.
  • Experience in a health care setting, preferred.
