Summary – basic function of the role

 

Improve customer satisfaction and company profitability by providing prompt and accurate repairs for our customers while making fair and honest warranty decisions for both Enerpac and our Customers.

 

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; evenings and weekends may be required

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting and repair on all Enerpac products.
  • Properly complete all necessary documentation on repairs, warranty repairs and credits.
  • Fairly administer Enerpac’s warranty policy.
  • Report warranty issues to appropriate management, quality, and assembly cells.
  • Communicate service findings and any charges to the customer.
  • Remain current in company products, promotions, and pricing techniques.
  • Package the product in an appropriate carton and perform minor paint repairs so the product is in acceptable condition before it is returned to stock or sent to the customer.
  • Recommend improvements to:
    • reduce cost
    • increase service levels to customers
    • current company procedures and policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with prior mechanic experience desired
  • Able to read parts lists, blueprints and hydraulic and electrical schematics in order to obtain revision levels, specifications and perform proper repairs.
  • Able to express repair findings well both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to make good warranty decisions based on customer input and repair findings.
  • Self-starter with effective time management skills and the desire to work in a team environment
  • Ability to figure discounts and pricing for billing customer repairs or issuing credits for returned product
  • Must be able to hear/understand/speak with team members at all levels within a diverse workforce.

Education and Experience

 

Education Requirements: Technical background preferred

Experience Requirements: 1-3 years experience in industrial tool maintenance or manufacturing

Physical Demands

Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee may have to lift tools up to 50 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This can include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee will need to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another. Employee will need to operate machinery and/or power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee will need to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Work Environment

Primary work environment is a manufacturing environment where following appropriate safety protocols would be required. While in the warehouse employee may be exposed to outdoor elements (such as precipitation and wind) and/or high levels of noise.
