Job Description
Stepan is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Columbus, Georgia. In this role, you will report to the Maintenance Reliability Engineer. Â

Provides maintenance support to plant equipment, systems, and building. Performs a variety of recurring and non-recurring tasks/functions. These tasks/functions may involve different processes to test, troubleshooting, renovate, overhaul, replace, as well as performing preventive maintenance on standard mechanical / electrical systems and housekeeping; in accordance with the daily schedule prepared by the Maintenance Planner or during off shift coverage. Run minor mechanical or electrical projects.

- Perform general facility equipment maintenance on a daily basis, according the Maintenance schedule, for mechanical/electrical equipmentÂ
- Perform general facility equipment basic troubleshooting and repairs on a daily basis, as needed, for mechanical equipmentÂ
- Perform any emergency repair activity assigned by the Maintenance Planner or the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform equipment calibrationsÂ
Qualifications
- 1 – 3 years experience as an industrial mechanic.
- Electrical troubleshooting and installation are not required but preferred.
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
Education
High School Diploma – Preferred 2 years Technical Degree.
