QUALIFICATIONS: Â Excellent customer service and patient relations skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare staff. Ability to obtain patient registration information, required consent forms, and signatures accurately and efficiently. Ability to collect, verify, and update insurance information and identification documents. Skilled in processing patient payments, co-pays, deductibles, and issuing receipts. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced emergency room environment. Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR), patient registration systems, and basic computer applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.

EDUCATION: Â High School Diploma or GED is required with on-the-job training

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Â Minimum one (1) year of experience in a hospital, emergency department, physician office, or healthcare setting preferred. Experience registering patients, obtaining signatures on required forms, and collecting demographic information. Experience verifying insurance coverage and obtaining insurance authorizations when applicable. Experience collecting patient payments and balancing daily cash or payment transactions. Experience answering phones, greeting patients, directing visitors, and responding to inquiries. Experience handling sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and discretion. Previous emergency room or acute care registration experience preferred.
