The Part Time Program Administrator 1/Community Liaison has a key role at the Commission. In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting on behalf of the administrator, including implementing public awareness programs regarding the Latino community in Ohio, maintaining a database of Latino-serving organizations and bilingual services through state agencies and other groups, and managing a database of resources, information, and frequently asked questions for the Latino community.
  • Researching and analyzing programs, procedures, and policies, including developing and improving policies and programs that focus on the needs of the Hispanic/Latino community and its serving organizations.
  • Managing the business functions of the administrator’s office, including developing and assessing outreach strategies, collecting and analyzing data, and making changes and updates based on the evaluation of goals and assessment data.
  • Performing public relations duties, including building relationships with other state agencies, federal agencies, legislators, national organizations, private businesses, labor and religious institutions; representing the Commission at events as required by the Executive Director; and facilitating community access to state government information and resources.
  • Overseeing constituent services for the Latino community and maintaining outreach and informational systems through electronic and social media (e.g., e-campaigns, list-serves, Facebook, and Twitter) to ensure the Latino community is well informed about resources and services
  • Assisting with the development of outreach materials, website updates, and other necessary tools.
  • Providing written communication (e.g., presentations, agency and constituent responses, emails) to support the work of the Commission.
  • Coordinating event planning, logistics, audience building, and event promotion for the agency’s outreach efforts (e.g., Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan Awards, Legislative Day, Agenda Latina, Education Summit, Health Summit, and other conferences and summits organized by the agency).
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


  • 36 months of training or 36 months of experience in business administration, management science, or public administration. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of the Revised Code, applicants must also have a valid commercial driver's license.
  • OR completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, management science, or public administration AND 12 months of training or 12 months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, and/or managerial position which involved limited research and public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of the Revised Code, applicants must also have a valid commercial driver's license.
  • OR completion of an undergraduate core program in an academic field commensurate with the program area to be assigned per the approved Position Description on file AND 12 months of training or 12 months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, and/or staff position which involved limited research and public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of the Revised Code, applicants must also have a valid commercial driver's license.
  • OR the equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Preferred Qualifications for this Position:

  • Able to speak, write and interpret Spanish.
